Then you can stop put the truck in neutral and then puch the 4LO button. The truck will not go into 4LO without first being in 4HI. manual says it blinks when trying to go into 4wd during slipping tires.. doesn't say anythng about blinking when going the other way. i'd say you're in no danger of any …

Another possibility is the transfer case sensor. If it thinks that it is between ranges you will get the flashing lights. Try shifting it between ranges a few times to loosen things up.
