Held on to TSLA & SPY puts for far too long. Had a dividend portfolio worth 6k at the time before I decided to sell it all and bought TSLA and SPY puts and deposited extra funds. At its peak it was worth 20k and I really thought it was going to go higher but it went down instead.
I have been buying Tesla puts since January, basically at least once every 3-5 weeks, usually with a 2-3 month expiry. I got burned initially and doubled double down for a double burn. Then I made it all back when it fell under $600 for the first time a couple months ago. Then I got burned once more when it went went above $700 again.188 votes, 12K comments. I feel bad for not being smart enough and buying calls after I sold my puts at open and instead just bought near today's top. The way it climbed looked completely linear, then flatlining as soon as their pressure died. Maybe some after hours fuckery but with so many banks in tomorrow + retail I just can't see this carrying through.

The 2024 1150 Put is .37 delta. The 11/19/2021 .37d put is at 985 strike, and currently mark is ~ 45.50. Assuming it expires OTM and you keep 100% of premium that's a 4.62% ROI for 10 days till expiration. 4.62% annualized is 420%. Looking at this thread it seems like selling put LEAPS is a thing on TSLA, but it just seems inefficient to me.
