Historically people switched from Reshade to Gshade because Gshade was easier to install and had some features that only were usable on Reshade with a lot of hassle (like depth shaders), eventually Reshade made that easier but by then everyone switched to Gshade and generally people were happy until the recent shitshow, but current iterations of Gshade and Reshade are basically the same.If you're going to uninstall GShade, make sure you do it right before installing ReShade (having backed up the appropriate preset and shader folders). Yes absolutely if you want actual colors in the game. The base game has this ugly white filter over the top of everything that washes out the color. Once I used reshade in HW I couldn't go back even after taking a one year+ break from the game during HW. Also with things like Gshade now it's even better.I just got the new Dell QD OLED and was enjoying HDR, FFXIV doesn't have it sadly, but by using SpecialK I was able to enjoy it with some tweaking.
