Some of my co-residents who didn’t have it had to do an EM or Peds rotation in CA-1 year, so it’s possible. I'm a CA-2 right now. Dr Marsh is still the PD, and does have equal weighting in interviews/selection as the other attendings who are involved. Dr Marsh does a ton of research, and administrative work. For most programs though, you have to be at the hospital by 6am and then finish around 3-5pm, depending on how many cases you get during the day.
