If you walk away too quickly, it will beep multiple times, letting you know the auto walk away lock will not lock. This can be for multiple reasons, I am sure others can chime in on that. But the bottom line, the multiple beeps means your truck is not locked, so make sure you click the button on the fob.

But there is a better way called "walk away auto lock" (Page 138).
