The 870 isn't bad for the price though, but the Nova surpasses the 870 in performance as I've had cases lodge in the Rem. I have yet to have any cases of lodging in the Nova. Cleaning seems to be easier with the Benelli design. Benelli Nova vs. Moss 500 series vs Remi 870. Benelli has a super smooth action and feels lighter / more agile. Mossberg has a smooth enough action, but you can feel the parts moving its more clunky, but it feels like it could take more punishment. Maybe thicker metal parts or a heavier stock contribute to this not sure.

Dunhams has a sale on the 500 Field Combo (2 barrels) for $299.00. You can buy the Security 18.5" (20 gauge) directly from Mossberg (call them) for $66.18. It is still a Benelli and still a good gun and a great value for what you get. I just hate the way it looks. My opinion is that the Nova is far superior to the Mossberg 500.
