Dec 20, 2019 · Code P1399 , OBD2 H22a4. I am making this post to hopefully help somebody in the future. Diagnostic codes: P1399, P0300 ,P0301 ,P0302, P0303, P0304. Most information will tell you that more than likely it is the EGR Port passages that need to be cleaned out, which most of the time is correct and in this case it was definitely needed.
P1399 is a Honda specific diagnostic trouble code. It means that more than one of your Civic's cylinders is misfiring (maybe just one, more on that below), and is most common fix is to adjust the valve lash or replace the bad ignition component. Honda does not supply a diagnostic flow chart for code P1399, it is a random misfire code and Honda/Acura has reported for various models that this could be caused by clogged EGR ports (if aplicable).

The only time I have noticed it misfiring is at idle and its not a common occurrence. It is just every now and then and it seems to only happen when the car is warmed up. I have 7 fault codes. P0301, P0302, P0303, P0304, P0401, P0300, and P1399. p1399 is a random misfire code and honda has reported for various models that this could be caused by clogged egr ports, in addition there is the possibility that the valve clearance spec may be out of range.check plugs and wires first and proper gap.
