I second the Cafe Tortoni recommendation. Also to note, we arrived just a few minutes before the scheduled start without plans to see the show. They told us it would cost 18,000 pesos cash for the three of us. We did not have that on us. After a few minutes counting our money, they lowered the price to 12,000.

With all of the the above in mind, my choice would be to book a hotel in Recoleta. I would check the Loi Suites, Club Francés, Melia Recoleta and Dazzler Recoleta (in that order).
