With reds though you get more chances (2x) for a decent unique potential (15-18% stat) which is good to keep till the rest of your gear passes it and your at 17* with said gear. When reboot started I did solo progression cause that's the only choice we had. I cubed up pensalir gear till I had around 1m range and found a party with people with similar stats to take down 3 doors. Then cubed that stuff and did hmag and cvel with parties till I got that gear. Totally possible. You can do it with Necro as well as pensalir.

Some easier to obtain level 150 transfer fodder is the Commerci equips you get from completing the Commerci quest line (takes maybe 30 minutes). It gives you weapon, shoulder, gloves, boots, overall, hat, and cape, which you can use to make the jump to absolab gear.
