A Final Total Scaled Score of 270 or greater is required to pass the Massachusetts Bar Examination. Portability. As of 2022, 41 jurisdictions administer the UBE. Examinees sitting for the bar exam in Massachusetts who earn a qualifying score may be able to transfer that score to another jurisdiction without having to repeat the bar exam.This change is not retroactive and applies to examinees -either in Utah or those who want to transfer a UBE score- taking the July 2023 Bar Examination and future examinations.
