Ed Shupp joined the Lehigh police force in 1978 and rose through the ranks to become chief of the LUPD in 2000. He is retiring this month after 39 years with the university. When Ed Shupp came to Lehigh University as a part-time officer in 1978, he was just a few years out of high school and considering a career in law enforcement.
