Dec 20, 2022 · I've used red dots on long guns with no problems. I got a green dot Swampfox Sentinel -- it's a direct fit to the Glock with no adapter plate needed, and I can co-witness the iron sites if need be. Had the sight on the pistol for 3 days before I ever shot it.

To be clear, the Sentinel has the RMSc footprint (that's the sub compact footprint, much smaller than the RMR/Trijicon footprint). OP's specs for the Sentinel indicated ARMS mounting, an obvious typo. The M&P 5.7 (as well as the other M&P 2.0 series with optic cuts) also has the RMSc optic cut. So, the Sentinel fit my 5.7 with no adapter.
