I also checked ls1howto.com. Since the plate and the oil pan is aluminum I am afraid of over tightening. Position a NEW oil pan cover gasket (433) and the cover (434) to the oil pan and install the bolts (435). Tighten the bolts to 9 Y (80 lb in). Thanks for the info. I think the flywheel screws want 105 lb-ft and the cover screws want 35 lb-ft, but I can't swear to it. Consider the use of LocTite #242 to be mandatory. For replacements, the cover screws may be replaced with 3/8"-16x3/4" screws, I use socket head capscrews for that.
