The default fence is aluminum though, which I'm 99.9% sure my SawStop is specifically designed to engage the brake the moment it comes in contact with it. Anyone SawStop owners using the aluminum fence as is (maybe I'm missing something).1. If the saw stop system triggers due to flesh contact, yes, the last thing to worry about is the cost of the blade and cartridge. However, the system is not perfect and does have false triggers, due to high humidity and high moisture content in the wood as well as other conductive materials. Whether or not one wants to spend extra money for the SawStop technology is purely subjective. But it seems to me if I must pay an extra $500 for the Harvey, that makes the SawStop $500 cheaper. I will admit I do have a SawStop. I ordered it from Woodcraft. It was delivered to the store and they loaded it into my truck with no shipping charges.

Really the difference is $700 because of those silly stamped wings. Dust, noise, stamped wings vs cast iron. Have used both, both are quality with the 36" fence, would go for the PCS just for the cast iron and dust collection if it were me. The Sawstop is a solid saw with good fit and finish. I will gladly pay for an accidental trip for the added safety. I hear the Harvey is A good saw but no actual experience.
