As far as builds go for pve, once you have a fighter thrall you can get through all the pve content with an encumbrance build. It's great for harvesting/building. I go with 1/10/30//20/41/15. You still need 9 enc from armor, and 5 survival from black blood tools. If you don't have those things you will have to distribute points another way.
21k was my highest but that was with lvl 20 Auth perk. Have a look at firesparks and Waks thrall videos. The highest for health is the relic hunters if i recall, then snowhunter, cimmerian berserker, and Lian is down about 5th or 6th somewhere.
