Solution Found!: After the most recent patch and switching to Direct X 11 on the Larian launcher, I can now play and load on ultra settings with no problems. Pondering. It might just be a result of merging the D&D 5E rules with their engine, which doesn't appear to have gone perfectly. For example, getting into combat only applies the turn based system to people in combat. Everyone else in the world continues their lives as normal, which can lead to shenanigans happening.
