Ruger security 9 slide stuck.
It’s pretty obvious why the feed ramp needs to be a smooth, polished surface. The nose of the bullet must slide over and through this concave surface to enter the chamber. If the surface is too rough or is nicked or burred, the bullet can get stuck. However, it’s less apparent why the bolt face needs to be smooth.

After removing the firing pin and cleaning the channel. simply wipe the firing lightly with a cloth with a drop or two of oil on it. Oil collects dirt and that dirt will eventually gum up the firing pin. I'd pull the Security 9 apart and re clean the channel before I'd send it back to Ruger.Change out mag, go to rack the slide to chamber the next round and then slide won't budge. The same thing happened to me with a Stoeger shotgun, but neither owners manual mentions this. Once you remove the innards you can readjust/orient your safety button. 1. Use a 3/32" pin punch and remove the crosspin that holds the ejector assembly in place - take care as there is a spring under tension on the right hand side of the assembly.
